Yen is the CEO of DrivenBI and oversees all operations in the company. With many years of management experience in multinational companies, Yen has developed professional cross-function managerial skills and comprehensive understanding of the nature of global business. His experiences in developing business growth strategy, streamlining organization structure and processes, and improving major customer satisfaction position him very well to take on the new challenges at DrivenBI. He most recently served as General Manager of Microsoft China, Enterprises & Partners Group and before that, as Vice-President, Motorola Networks, Asia-Pacific. Yen also had several executive level positions in multinational companies including General Manager of IBM Global Services, Greater China and Vice-President of Oracle Consulting Services, Asia-Pacific, among others. Yen holds an MBA degree from Anderson School of Management at UCLA, a MS (in Electrical Engineering) and BS (in General Engineering) degrees from SUNY at Stony Brook.
Ben is the founder of DrivenBI. Before Launching DrivenBI, he was most recently Vice President of Global Services at Business Objects (formerly NASDAQ: BOBJ), now an SAP Company (NYSE: SAP). At Business Objects, he led the worldwide XI migration program office to drive R2 product adoption. Prior to Business Objects, Ben was Vice President leading Worldwide Professional Services at Vitria (formerly NASDAQ: VITR), the premier provider of enterprise application integration (EAI) and business process management (BPM) software. Before Vitria, Ben developed his career for 13 years at Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL), the world largest enterprise and database provider. His last position at Oracle was Group Vice President leading Managed Services business unit. Ben holds Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering, studied American Culture at Columbia University and MBA at USC Marshall Business School.
Kathleen leads the sales team to work in partnership with our clients and alliance partners. Kathleen brings to DrivenBI years experience in both product and services sales. Before DrivenBI, she was most recently Area Director at Vitria Technology, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: VITR) serving multi-national clients and responsible for services business in US, Japan and Australia. Her career included also leadership roles as Vice President of Global Services for Personic, Inc., an e-recruiting software firm, and management positions at Deloitte and Touche LLP in enterprise risk services for SAP and Oracle projects. Before Deloitte, Kathleen developed her career for 10 years at Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) where she held senior management positions in product sales and consulting services. Kathleen holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from Rutgers University, New Jersey and participated in executive education at Haas Business School at UC Berkeley.
As DrivenBI’s CTO, Jerry leads the development of DrivenBI’s current and next generation technology framework. Jerry brings not only hands-on software development experiences, but also strong software architecture design to DrivenBI. Jerry has been an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley since 1985 and has 25 years of experience in the area of software development for both established companies and startups, such as Burroughs, Intel, Gupta Technologies/Centura Software, Onlive!, etc. Jerry’s technology specialties include Database Management, Systems, Network Management, Telecom Switching/Provisioning, Voice of IP, User Intelligence, Business Intelligence and Mobile Data Services. Jerry has been a technology advisor at Acorn Campus Venture, a venture capital firm based in Cupertino California since 2002 where Jerry has been working with various companies under Acorn’s investment portfolios. Jerry holds a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan.
Derick has over 15 years of wide-ranging software architecture and development experience, including enterprise applications, databases, large-scale web applications, Windows based rich client applications, cloud computing, big data, and SaaS. As DrivenBI’s VP of engineering, Derick leads the design and implementation of the company’s cloud based self-service data analysis platform. With hands on experience in a variety of technology areas and extensive practical experience in agile software project management, Derick has proven track record in taking advantage of cutting edge technologies and utilize them to serve the satisfaction of business demands, as well as rapidly ramping up an engineering team and accomplish on-time delivery with superior quality.
Prior to joining DrivenBI, and after receiving his engineering degree in Computer Science, Derick worked for R&D department of Augmentum since 2004 where he severed in several key technical positions. Augmentum is a US based software company started in 2003 and has grown to over 1000 employees and delivered technology solutions to large enterprises around the globe. During the time at Augmentum, Derick worked in a number of architecture, development, and management roles on multiple projects across various fields ranging from business intelligence, monitoring and emergency response, transportation, finance, to natural resources and energy.
Injay started his professional career in the Wall Street as an investment banker with former Bankers Trust Company following his MBA studies at Wharton Graduate School. Since Year 2000, he has been focusing on helping entrepreneurs of early-stage, high-tech venture companies to accelerate their expansion plans and has been the lead investor and manager of many highly successful ventures in US and China, including on-line game company (Perfect World, Nasdaq: PWRD), on-line music company (KK Box, acquired by KDDI of Japan), security software company (SafeBay), and others.
John is a veteran technology executive with over 25 years of extensive experience in software sales and services. He has successfully held senior management leadership positions at companies such as Oracle, Unisys, SAP/Business Objects, VMware, Xerox/ACS and Serena. John brings broad experience in technology sales and services management, as well as general management skills, acting as a “change agent” in turning around and building high performance teams, increasing sales, creating new services lines, and effectively managing the balance of high-growth and profitability”. John’s postgraduate work includes Master of Business Administration and Master of Art in Psychological Counseling. He attended Chapman University where he earned a Bachelor of Art in Psychology.
Mr. Chen is the Chairman and CEO of Grand Pacific Financing Corporation & its subsidiaries in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
Mr. Chen holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Laws and Literature (LL.B.) from Soochow University Law School in Taiwan.
John is the founder and President of Meehan Consulting Engineers, Inc. which specializes in providing engineering services for sustainable design of large industrial facilities. John has over 30 years of experience as an engineer in the Food and Beverage Industry.
Throughout his career as a consulting engineer, he has provided engineering design, project management, and constructions management services to a wide range of clients including industry leaders: MillerCoors, Anheuser-Busch, Coke, Pepsi, Tropicana, Ocean Spray, Nestle, Boeing, Amgen, and Baxter.
John holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Norbert is a founding partner of the law firm Fragner Seifert Pace & Winograd, LLP in Los Angeles. He has 30 years of experience in providing transactional legal services, generally involving commercial real estate acquisition, development, finance/capital markets, leasing, operations, disposition, restructuring, foreclosure and related matters. Clients for which he has provided legal services include many global institutional capital providers and advisors such as CS First Boston, CIBC and Calyon, and a number of high profile real estate developers and owners. He recently was the lead counsel for the acquisition and simultaneous structured financing of a portfolio of Southern California office buildings in a single transaction for approximately $1.5 billion. Norbert previously was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Imperial Credit Commercial Mortgage Investment Corp., where he helped raise $500+ million of equity capital in that company’s successful IPO and he later managed all legal aspects of that company’s stock-for-cash merger into another public company. Norbert also has experience in legal aspects of corporate human resources and operations, including employment, retention, severance, executive compensation, facilities and compliance issues. Norbert is a member of the New York Bar (since 1981) and California Bar (since 1989) with a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law and a B.S. (Econ.) degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Roy Chua is currently a partner at Wiretap Ventures, a management consulting group focused around helping executive teams take advantage of new opportunities brought about by virtualization, mobility and cloud computing. Roy has 20 years of experience in enterprise SaaS and cloud computing, networking and security. Prior to Wiretap, Roy was VP Products at 41st Parameter, an online fraud prevention company that protects the world’s largest financial services, online retailers and airlines. At 41st, Roy led the transition of the product from on-premises to a SaaS offering that processes hundreds of million of transactions a month.
Prior to 41st Parameter, Roy was a consulting VP Marketing at companies in the green-technology, security and software-defined networking space. Roy was formerly a co-founder and VP Products/Marketing at Identity Engines, an Enterprise security company acquired by Avaya. Before Identity Engines, Roy was Director of Product Marketing at Spirent Communications. He arrived at Spirent through the acquisition of Caw Networks where, as a founding team member, was responsible for managing the Avalanche™ product line from concept to reality, picking up 5 prestigious product awards (3 NetWorld+Interop Best of Show), and taking the product to a $30M+ annual run-rate in less than 3 years.
Roy has also worked in marketing management and engineering positions at Auspex Systems and Cisco Systems. He received his MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, and is the holder of several patents in network instrumentation and distributed identity management.
